Sonoma Observatory

As a member of the UN World Tourism Organization's International Network of Observatories, the Sonoma Sustainable Tourism Observatory monitors recurring drought conditions, local climate change responsiveness and resilience, and the ways in which state parks can connect communities.

We also examine the role of wine tourism and agritourism with their emphasis on organic and biodynamic techniques and their roles as leaders and educators in green growing techniques.

Sonoma 2023

A “new normal” for travel, wine-tourism, and the work-life balance in our communities is now here, bringing new challenges and impacts.

We at the Observatory look forward to seeing travel to the region return to its pre-pandemic levels and continue beyond its previous heights.
